The Ministry for Gozo launched a funding scheme for ecoGozo projects by non-governmental organisations. The aim of this project was to undertake an underwater management venture.  This consisted of underwater cleanups, maintenance of Gozo prime diving sites, reduction of ghost fishing and monitoring of Dwejra Special Area of Conservation.  Another important element of this project was that it offered a diving experience for children and people with special needs.  A campaign to increase awareness and respect towards the sea environment was also included.  This project targeted the general public,...
GASART - Gozo Aquatic Search and Rescue Team
The project focused on the setting up of a Water Rescue system, offering lifeguard services and other emergency services (i.e. water rescue and medical emergencies), during the summer months in and around Comino and some beaches in Gozo.  The project also included an educational component in order to educate the public, mainly children during Skola Sajf activities. Heritage Trail

Improving the safety of one of Gozo's main theatres (Removal of asbestos roof)
The aid given to the Leone Philharmonic Society was used in an extensive project where the roof of the Aurora Theatre was changed. The roof which was made of asbestos was removed and replaced by a new roof, resistant enough to support a new project which will improve its operational sustainability. This project included the conservation of the oldest two parish registers of St. George’s Basilica which date back to the early seventeenth century, the acquisition of digitisation and scanning equipment so to digitise the contents of all registers and manuscripts professionally and an interactive multimedia information podium. History and Identity Restored and Dissemination
