Earth Hour - Gozo joins the world to protect the planet
On Saturday 23rd March 2013 between 8.30 and 9.30pm, the island of Gozo will join the rest of the world for the Earth hour initiative. The aim of this activity is to encourage households, businesses, private and public establishments to turn off their non-essential lights for one hour to raise awareness about the need to take action on climate change. The first Earth hour took place in 2007 in Sydney, with other cities joining and participating as from the following year.
You are now encouraged to switch off the lights/or else practice any other environmentally-friendly measure as a sign of commitment to protect our planet.
· Switch to renewable energy resources and use energy efficient light bulbs
· Opt for candle light activities
· Use water saving kits to reduce water consumption
· Separate your waste
