The Gozo pavilion at the Malta International Fair

As in previous years, the island of Gozo was represented during the Malta International Fair that opened its doors on the 23rd June until the 4th of July.

The Gozo pavilion at the Malta International FairThis year's theme focused on encouraging more Maltese residents to cross over to Gozo for their holidays.  Apart from offering a relaxing holiday, Gozo offers a distinct countryside, some unique beaches and swimming locations, and among the best restaurants on the Maltese Islands .

In a period of economic uncertinity around the world, the Ministry for Gozo took advantage of this trade fair to encourage more Maltese to cross over and experience what Gozo has to offer, without spending as much as a holiday abroad.  With just a 25-minute crossing from Cirkewwa to Mgarr, all the family can enjoy and discover the beauty of this island.

One of the innovations introduced at the Gozo Pavilion this year was the holding of fun games at the pavilion which rewarded visitors with free Gozo Channel ferry tickets sponsored by the company.  These games were organised by a team of animators and were produced daily between 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

Several brochures and printed information explaining the Gozo tourism offer were also distributed from this stand. Four elevated screens projected audio visual footage about the island of Gozo.

This intiative was held in connection with the Eco-Gozo action plan.

As in previous years, the Ministry for Gozo also assisted Gozitan enterprises that wished to participate in this fair, by providing free space.
